The Divided Church
John 17:20-26 He loved us so much that even at the end of his walk here on earth 2000 years ago He prayed for us.
v. 22 “That they may be one as we are one”
v. 23 “May they be brought to complete unity.”
The Church today divided by denominations and denominational fights over doctrine and I know that it breaks God’s heart to see his Bride so divided. We here in this community need to break down the walls of denominations fighting realizing that we have different doctrine and different bodies and meeting places and work together to bring this community to Christ because if we are not unified as Christ prayed for us to be, the work is fragmented and harder.
The other division in our country today the also splits the churches is the division of race.
I go back to Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I have a dream speech”
to the last paragaraph
“When we let freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all God’s Children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestant and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing the words of the old Negro spiritual, “Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!”
1Corinthians 3:1-9 - If we argue over
We are free in Christ, let us join as a united front against the evil one and stand firm in Christ knowing that the victory is ours.
We live in a great country with much to be thankful for and as Christians we need to be unified both demoninationally and racially in the Love of Christ to stand in our world today to make the difference to see His Kingdom advance into our dark world.
United we conqure, divided we fall.
